Libraries are faced with the challenge of fulfilling its role with the confinements of being located within or serving a prison. We have narrowed in on the issue of no internet access within Canadian Prisons as contributing to the limitations of prison librarianship.

The profile of prisoners suggests a pattern of marginalization. With the aforementioned issue in mind, prisoners are being further excluded - excluded from information access and from a digitally advancing culture.
